Let's try these "Essential Oil Rollers" from Get Rollin' PH

Whenever you catch a cold or suffer from headache, do you always pop a pill or two to relieve the uneasy feeling? If your answer is yes, well we are very much alike. I assume most of us become "dependent" on medications because they deliver instant result.

But have you tried using essential oils instead?

There was a shop on Instagram called Get Rollin PH that offers essential oil rollers for various needs. They sent me three 3mL tiny rollers, each bear a label that creatively states where to use it. According to the owner of the brand, they use only pure high-grade essential oils for each roller.

Now it's time to try them!

Ohh Nose! contains blend of essential oils that can relieve symptoms of respiratory problems, like colds, cough, allergy, etc. I tried it when I had stuffy nose one morning; just simply followed the instructions and YES, it is indeed effective!

It smells like it has mint, or eucalyptus. After applying it, I went back to sleep, and when I woke up again, my breathing was a lot better :)

Sore Soother contains blend of essential oils that can generally alleviate pain in tired muscles and even headache. Well I always have muscle pain, especially on my right shoulder blade, so I immediately used it!

I guess the scent plays a big role on its effect. I did smell a hint of rosemary (though I'm not so sure), and that's new for me. And unlike the common topical oils that we use, which has that extreme "warm effect" after application, this one has a more subtle soothing effect.

Counting Sheep contains blend of essential oils that can promote a relaxed and sound sleep---and I am addicted to it! Well, I certainly need this one because there are days that I just cannot enjoy a relaxing slumber, especially if I have a lot of things running inside my head (work, work, work!).

This one smells like lavender and citrus. But you must not be tempted in applying it while outside the house, or when you are at work, because for sure you'll end up looking for a comfy couch or bed to sleep on! :)

Want to try Get Rollin's Essential Oil Rollers? Here's what you need to know:

  • They are available in 3mL, 5mL and 10mL
  • Categories are Young Kids, Kids, Mild and Regular
  • Mild and Regular strength use more essential oils than other blends in the market
  • Price depends on volume and category (strength)
  • Prices per volume: 3mL (PHP90 - PHP160), 5mL (PHP 200), and 10mL (PHP400)
  • Don't forget to do a patch test before using

They also offer a Diffuser set with 11 pure essential oils and samples included, plus a limited edition Christmas set for only PHP550---a perfect gift for your loved ones! You can check their Facebook page (Get Rollin') and Instagram account (@getrollinph) for the other variants of their essential oil rollers.

Hope you like this post, please do subscribe and comment your thoughts below! I am actually thinking of having a giveaway, so let me know which roller would you love to receive *wink*

Now let me go back to counting sheeps...bye!

"The Dream Party" | Skinpotions Dream Cream Launch with Anne Clutz, Purpleheiress and Nina Rayos

Skinpotions, a local beauty brand, hosted a "Dream Party" last month, wherein they launched their newest and most innovative product to date: The Dream Cream.

The event was graced by beauty bloggers, influencers, and of course Skinpotions' very own Girl Gang. It was a night filled with nice food, lovely girls, inspiring talks and great product!

So how come I ended up partying with these ladies?

Okay, here's the back story: The official invite was sent to me thru Viber, two weeks before the party. Of course I was so excited to attend and meet my fave beauty vloggers and the entire SP fam! However, I knew that i'll be spending for the outfit, shoes and fare---that's when I had second thoughts.

Still, and to my surprise, I was present at The Main Street on the night of August 31st, yay!

I arrived late (like 30 minutes late) on the venue due to heavy traffic (I hate going out on Fridays, really). Luckily I didn't missed anything, aside from the opening prayer and being able to choose a seat.

The place is not too big, but the setup was nice and dreamy. I received a welcome gift at the entrance: a PR box containing the dream cream (all six shades), plus a note, an eye mask and stickers.

I was really hungry since I traveled for three hours just to get there, so I immediately approached the buffet table and served myself with everything, haha! I liked the food, though I was too shy for second servings *cries*, and the fact that they allowed us to eat first before anything else!

Halfway thru our dinner, we also listened to a talk by Ms. Owie Dela Cruz about self-love and pursuing your passion. She shared with us her dark past which made her a better person at present---it was really inspiring! I guess I need more of this, or maybe I can do talks too, what do you think? (mmm..)

And suddenly...there was Mama Anne Clutz! (Oh my heart, be still, please!)

Some of the well-known local YouTubers were seated together, but I was kinda shy to approach them, though they seem to be friendly and nice... *smiles*

And finally the much-awaited launch of the dream cream! *confetti*

Skinpotions' COO Aileen Sison took us back to where it all started. The humble beginnings and life-changing struggles made Skinpotions one of the best beauty local brands in the market right now.

Together with her sister, CEO Jonah Sison (and the rest of the SP family), another awesome concoction was created! I am indeed so proud to have witnessed the becoming of a dream...

Now it's time for fun activities and FREEBIES!

We were asked to complete the individual challenges on each station, and this was the time when I get to mingle with the other girls. It was super fun, especially because I received a lot of free products from Skinpotions! (most of which I haven't tried before)

Now meet the Girl Gang! (I love these girls so much!)

Me with my favorite beauty vloggers! (Seeing them in person filled my heart with so much happiness and inspiration...such lovely women)

Isha Borromeo (Purpleheiress)

Anne Clutz and MaeLayug

That's it! It was a simple event, yet what made it so special is the product itself. I can't wait for every Filipina to try it and own one (well all of the shades if possible!). Kudos to the people behind the success of the Dream Launch. All of you did a great job! Cheers!

Looking forward to more events with my Skinpotions Family! I will be prepared with my hairstyle next time, haha! (low bun is definitely my "default" hairstyle---so lazy) Anyway, if you have questions, you may comment down below, and I hope you enjoyed this one! You may also check this post: Skinpotions Dream Cream for the complete swatches + review.

Keep on dreaming, loves!

Skinpotions "Dream Cream" | Swatches + Review

What is your dream makeup product? Have you found and tried it already, or you just have it inside your head?

Apparently, a new product was launched by Skinpotions last August 30, and I am super blessed to be one of the girls who were able to try it for the first time! (I'll be sharing more about the so-called "Dream Party" on the next post) Now, I shall spill my thoughts about it, and also show you why it is the dreamiest tint ever :)

Okay, so I received the complete set of Skinpotions Dream Cream for free at the launching event. This powder velvet tint has six shades, each comes in 6 ml (0.20 fl.oz.) container with an applicator.

Swatched all shades on my arm...

Followed by the smudge test...

I also tried each on my lips, in full color...

ZOEY

DYLANNE

HARPER

BROOKLYN

SCARLETT

STELLA

The reason why it was dubbed as the "dream cream" is because it's a three-way tint, which can be used on the eyes, cheeks and lips.

To test, I used Harper and applied a little on my lips, cheeks and eyelids.

VERDICT

I am now obsessing over the dream cream! It is so perfect for girls like me who are often lazy when it comes to makeup. Plus, it also saved me a lot of space inside my vanity kit! My fave shade is Harper and Scarlett.

Here are my honest thoughts which may help you decide if you'll give it a go or not:

  • It blends really well. Glides smooth on the lips, leaving no patches and doesn't crack. A perfect cream blush and eye color which gives off a nice and natural hue.
  • The color payoff is excellent. Even a single dot goes  long way. What you see on the product is what you actually get.
  • It has a rich texture and moisturizing formula. No chapped lips and irritated skin for sure. It actually gives off a natural shine on the cheeks.
  • Great shade range. All shades would definitely look flattering even on different skin tones.
  • Limited staying power. Color could last long on the cheeks and eyelids, but not on the lips.
  • Smells really nice. It's like applying dessert on your face!
  • Flexible and versatile. You can easily switch from day to night look just by adjusting the amount of product you put on, and by mixing two to three shades.

And yes, that's it! hope you enjoyed this review :) If you have questions or you also wanna share your thoughts, please do leave a comment below.

The dream cream retails at PHP249 (which I believe is so cheap given the quality) and can be purchased at their website and kiosks located in select SM Supermalls. I might also have a giveaway! Just follow me on Instagram so you won't miss that out!

Dream on, with these tints on!

SilkyGirl Cosmetics Philippines | Magic BB Cushion, Duo Blusher and Skin Perfect Foundation

This Malaysian brand has been a staple at over a thousand of beauty counters in  Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. Being an affordable drugstore makeup brand, SilkyGirl Cosmetics also successfully penetrated the PH market (you can see them at Robinsons beauty section and supermarket).

It is my first time to ever try some of their popular products. So in this post, I'll be sharing my honest thoughts about them. Let's see if they deserve a space inside your vanity drawers :)

The following products were sent by SilkyGirl Philippines for free. I received the Magic BB Cushion, Shimmer Duo Blusher and Skin Perfect Liquid Foundation.

Silky Girl Magic BB Cushion

Shades: 01 Natural Light and 02 Natural Medium

Specifics: 15 grams | SPF 50 / PA +++ | Fragrance-free and formulated for Asian skin

Claims: Brightens and evens skin tone | Has antioxidant protects skin from free radicals | Hydrates and moisturizes skin for fresh and youthful skin | Has 12 hours oil-control and long-wearing

I tried shade 01 Natural Light. The packaging is nice, simple yet classy. The applicator (cushion puff) is soft and refined, but absorbs much of the product. When applied on the skin, I noticed that the formula is a bit thick, which make blending a challenge. But I do love that it has medium to full coverage, concealing most of my imperfections (redness and pores). Plus, it is fragrance-free, which is awesome.

Though I felt that it is a little dry on the skin (since I'm used to dewy cushions from Korean brands), it does controls oil pretty well.

Silky Girl Shimmer Duo Blusher

Shades: sunny glow, blushing pink, cheeky peach, rose petal

Specifics: 4 grams | two shades in one pan; comes with a brush

The packaging deserves an applause! I like it because the cover is thick, doesn't feel cheap and has a separate compartment for the brush.

However, I have quite an issue with the shades. They look nice on the pan, but when I applied it on my cheeks using the free brush, it was too powdery that it doesn't adhere well on my skin. There is enough shimmer, but the pigmentation is somehow lacking. You must apply layers and layers just to achieve the visible color.

Silky Girl Skin Perfect Liquid Foundation

Shades: 01 Light, 02 Natural, 03 Medium, 04 Tan

Specifics: 25 ml | SPF 30 / PA +++ | Fragrance-free

Claims: Contains Nano Seaweed plus Vitamin E, Nanospheres 100 and Vitamin A and O2+ Complex | Smooth and natural finish | Non-comedogenic

The size is sooo perfect for travel. I appreciate that it do not make use of glass bottles (that's why it will easily fit inside your makeup kit since it's only a small tube). Upon application, the consistency is quite thin, which make it super blendable.

I honestly thought that it will be cakey and oily a few minutes after application. However, I was amazed that it sets pretty well---doesn't feel heavy nor dry on the skin. Like, am I really wearing a foundation?! You can certainly go from medium to full coverage, with no issues in fragrance, staying power and oil control. Though I just find the shades limited to certain skin tones, yet mixing of shades may work to achieve your color.

VERDICT

And since I'm not aware how much these products cost, I cannot really tell if they are affordable or worth the price. But being a drugstore makeup, given the above observations, I must say that the cushion and foundation are worth buying. I'm just not happy with the blush, hoping they are more pigmented.

They still have other products for the eyes and lips, which hopefully we can try as well :)
