1,200 Calorie Diet for a Day | with a FREE 7-Day Meal Plan!

Never thought that I'll be able to go back to my regular weight after years of being over my ideal, in reference to height and body frame size. I already knew the secret, though it took me a little while to find the will power to finally do it.

And yes, it's all about DIET.

I filmed this video to show you what a 1,200 Calorie Diet for a day looks like. I did not simply decreased the daily calorie intake, but also considered the nutrient content of each meal. This diet plan helped me lose my unwanted weight and drop a few inches, while staying healthy!

WATCH this video and carefully take note of the important features of this diet:

Just like what I've mentioned in the video, this diet plan is perfect and the most ideal for those who would want to achieve immediate weight loss in a short period of time. The 1,200 Calorie Diet Plan can be quite restrictive, thus it is not ideal for anyone, in general, to stick to it for a long period of time (though it can still be possible for some with small body frame size, slow metabolism, very low physical activity, etc.)

If you'll ask me, this diet is far better than the fad diets you see all over the internet because this cannot only deliver results, but most importantly, sustain your health and well-being too. Believe me, I've tried a lot of crazy diets and always end up gaining more than what I've actually lost *cries*

Now here's a FREE meal plan for a week which you can try at home! But before you do that, I would suggest that you prepare yourself a few days (to a week) prior. Try to do the following:

(1) Avoid refined carbs (e.g. white rice)
(2) Eliminate sugary drinks and junk foods (chips)
(3) Decrease portion size of each meal
(4) Limit intake of salty food

Once you managed to do these, you may start with my 1,200 Calorie Diet Plan immediately :)

1,200 Calorie Diet Plan for 7 Days

Simply mix and match meals from the list below! You can find the full recipes on my previous videos. Just make sure to observe portion control. To make it easier, prepare your food in a small bowl only. Keep in mind that your goal each meal is to eat just the right amount of food to satisfy hunger (and NOT to feast!).

BREAKFAST

Power Omelette
Avocado Toast
Berry Nutty Smoothie
Banana & Oats Pancake
Soft-boiled Eggs + Apple
Overnight Oats with Banana

Here are the videos where you can find the recipes for the above meals:

I will be creating more healthy cooking videos in the future, to give you more options for your diet. Though these resources won't mean anything unless you decided to START. So start not tomorrow, not next week, but TODAY! Don't get overwhelmed, a week on low calorie healthy diet will pass and you'll be surprised with the improvements you'll make.

I promise you that :)

Lay's NEWEST Flavor, "Salted Egg" is Finally HERE! #LaysBringTheFlavor | Philippines

What will you do if a large, yellow, luggage-inspired box hit your doorstep one stormy afternoon? Then as you look at the front part, you'll find a bold print which says "The Snack Surprise", surrounded with the logos of some popular snack brands...

Well you gotta do what you gotta do---UNBOX IT RIGHT AWAY because it is from FRITOLAY!! Yeah!

Hahaha! I hope you liked the intro guys! :)

And TADAAH! I didn't expected that Lay's will come up with a new flavor, and it's something that we all crave for: SALTED EGG!!!

For a quick first impression: The Lay's logo here, as well as most of the product information are written in  foreign letters. Which made me conclude that it was purposely created for a certain market. Regardless of that being said, I still love the packaging and the overall feel of this product. I think it shall be well-received by the Filipinos :)

But the question is: "How was the taste?" Did I lived for it? How was it compared to the good 'ol flavors of Lay's?

Mmm...well they somehow nailed this one, because I totally LOVE IT! The delicate flavor of salted egg was carefully infused in every potato chip, making it deliciously addicting! I also noticed that it has this controlled amount of 'spicyness' which helps a lot to make it not so "nakaka-umay" at all. And yeah, I finished a bag in just a snap. Thank you very much!

Lay's Salted Egg is now exclusively available at ALL 7-11 stores nationwide! So grab some and enjoy the salted egg craze with your family and friends! Don't forget to share your photos and use the hashtags: #LaysBringTheFlavor #LaysSaltedEgg

WIN over PHP 220,000 worth of PRIZES from Super Delights Brownie Bites!

The first time I tasted this brownie was way back 2018, when my sister brought home a bag. I can still remember that we consumed everything down to the last bits because it was so heavenly delicious!

Just recently, I received a package from Super Delights and was surprised to see that my favorite brownie bites has a new look---and a very exciting offer!

Before we jump to the "exciting offer", I will first share a few thoughts...

My busy lifestyle consistently demands for a snack that is quick, yummy, and at the same time pack with energy-boosting ingredients! Good thing a bar only contributes to 60 calories, so I'll never be too guilty to indulge in one or two bites daily.

And did you know that you can experiment with brownie bites? You can either heat in the microwave or chill inside the fridge. But if you want to impress your house guests, you can serve it to them with ice cream on top (instant brownie ala mode!) or with a cup of milk or hot chocolate. You'll be the best host for sure!

Yet the most awesome thing here is the fact that you no longer need to bake whenever you are craving for brownies! Easy and affordable :)

Lay's Philippines "Snack Overload' Promo 2019: Buy 2 bags, Get a free snack!

Who doesn't love FREE stuff? No one of course! Especially if it's a FREE SNACK?!

Another reason to hoard our favorite FritoLay snacks is their newest and hottest "snack overload" promo! Just by simply buying two (2) stickered bags, you'll get to enjoy a FREE snack! And you have three choices:

a. A box of 3 glazed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme
b. A dessert pizza courtesy of Yellowcab
c. A chicken burger with cheese by Max's Restaurant

Participating products are Lay's, Doritos, and Cheetos---you can mix and match any flavors! Yay!

#LaysSnackOverload

And of course, I have to experience this for myself; so after finishing a bag of Lay's and Cheetos, I head over to Krispy Kreme (at SM City Bacoor) and exchanged them for some yummy glazed doughnuts. To my surprise, I was asked to pay 60 pesos before I can claim my supposedly "FREE" snacks. Hmmm, that only proves the saying "There's no such thing as free lunch (or snack?!)"

Do I have hard feelings about that? Nu-uh. At least I got the other two doughnuts literally for FREE (haha!). To be honest, I don't consider LAY'S as one of my "daily" snacks. Given its pricey nature, I would still go for the local ones. But let us also be real with the fact that the former has more flavor in it, and is made with premium ingredients; thus justifies the high price point. And promos like this gives us an opportunity to indulge without too much guilt, since we are getting a bit more of what we actually paid for. Agree?

I still have a bag of Lay's sour cream and Doritos here, so I think I'll be getting the dessert pizza next! :) Hopping I won't be asked to pay for it again hahaha! *fingers crossed*

The promo period is from May 1 to June 30, 2019. You can redeem your FREE snacks until August 31, 2019. Make sure to cut out the stickers and visit the participating branches before that date! Let me know your experiences by leaving a comment below :)

And she snack happily ever after...

Try the famous Bacolod Inasal at Aida's Chicken | Manokan Country

Manokan Country is a complex of a dozen of restaurants offering the tasty Bacolod Chicken Inasal. They aren't fancy restaurants, something quite similar to our carinderias.

On our first day in Bacolod, we decided to have our dinner at one of the restaurants in Manokan Country. And our pick was Aida's Chicken!

So this is what an authentic Chicken Inasal looks like! I was expecting for something similar to that of Mang Inasal. But though I had the breast part, the meat of the chicken is still flavorful, which I am not really expecting. I also tried the "tina-e" or the chicken intestine which is also delicious (the local term is just so straightforward, do you agree? *giggles*).

And since they also serve fresh oyster or "talaba", we ordered a plate :)

You should never forget to prepare your "sawsawan"! They have a complete set of condiments here. You just have to ask for calamansi and chili.

Items on the menu are really affordable, you can even try everything (well except for the drinks). But I would suggest to pair your inasal with a glass of cold softdrink (the burps in between and after the meal is simply the best *wink*)

So yeah, that's my short yet savory taste bud adventure at Aida's Chicken Manokan Country! Don't forget to add them on your itinerary when you visit Bacolod. Share your thoughts and experiences with us too!

To all the chicken lovers (like me), cheers!

Satisfy cravings for burgers, chicken and fries at The Black Apartment | #FridayFoodTrip

Who wouldn’t love juicy burgers and tasty fries on a Friday night? errr..I mean, afternoon!

There's quite a handful of burger houses near our place, serving the basic snacks to perfectly cap off another tiring week. And one definitely stood out because of its unique interiors and extensive menu. With a grumbling stomach, I visited the famous Black Apartment a few weeks ago, expecting to taste not-so-ordinary burgers, chicken and fries.

THE PLACE

The exterior is literally black. It’s a duplex house painted in black, adorned with wooden accents. The parking area is quite big, which is kinda impressive (since this is a common problem among food hubs, well I guess they are just expecting a lot of customers too). Inside, the area is very spacious, with wooden tables, chairs and couches. I have noticed that there is still provision for expansion, since they have only utilized the first half of the apartment. Lighting is great, as I was able to take good photos with just my phone; ventilation is pretty nice as well because it’s air-conditioned and not congested.

THE FOOD

I am with Mr. J, so we ordered two burgers with fries, chicken wings and shakes.

For the burgers, we ordered the “Tenant” and “Chubby Roommate”, both includes plain salted fries. There was only one flavor for chicken wings so we tried it, the “Hot Chicks Next Door”. For the drinks, we opted for fruit shakes, “Mango Lychee” and “Mango Banana”.

The burger tastes ordinary at first, but as I munch, I noticed a few remarkable stuff in it: The bread was ‘pandesal-like”, very tasty and toasted just right. Moreover, the beef patty was really tender, thick, but a bit bland. All other ingredients were fresh and nicely assembled.

On the other hand, the chicken is below par at first glance, but when I tasted it, my goodness, it’s unexpectedly delicious!—good flavor, tender and spicy! Lastly, the shakes simply matched with all the flavors in my mouth. I love the smoothness and the balanced taste of the ingredients—you can really taste the mango, lychee and banana.

THE PRICE

It is hard to decide whether the prices on the menu are just right or a bit expensive. It will certainly depend on the item. In general, the prices can be justified by the quality of the food, especially for the burgers and shakes. But for the chicken, I’m a bit disappointed with the serving, too far from what is on the menu (others can even have unlimited chicken wings for only 200 pesos), hoping they could serve bigger portions or just increase the number.

THE SERVICE

From the security personnel, to the cashier, to the one who assisted us, I can pretty much say that all have been trained to be very accommodating, quick and nice. It was good that after we finish our food, one of the staff approached us to ask for comments and suggestions. I gave them my honest remarks though, and that made me feel good as a customer.

There are still a lot to try on their menu, that's why I’m so certain that I’ll be visiting them again any time soon (gotta try those rice meals and milkshakes!).

If you are planning to visit The Black Apartment, they have two branches, the one that I've featured here is their Bahayang Pagasa branch. See details below:

Always share good food with family and friends,

PopTalk Malolos Food Crawl | Miss G on PopTalk!

Unexpected yet overwhelming.

I cannot put into words the excitement when I received a call from PopTalk, inviting me to be one of their guest reviewers. It was Wednesday night (September 20, 2017) and I just got home from work, my phone rang and displayed a strange number. I answered the call and was so shocked to hear the lady from the opposite line introducing herself. It was so silly of me to even clarify what she just said!

I had a short phone interview with Ms. Eunice, PopTalk's researcher, and the rest was just crazy. I had only a day to prepare for my first-ever appearance on National Television! It was so nerve-wracking yet thrilling! Since I have no time to decide on what to wear, I opted for a green Forever 21 bodycon dress (courtesy of a good friend, Ms. Wenna) and my fave white sandals from Erin by Etsy. Popped a pair of silver heart-shaped dangling earrings, applied thin makeup (which was later on retouched by the makeup artist) and breathe deeply...

I was good to go :)

In the morning of September 22, Friday, we were bound to the historical City of Malolos, Bulacan. I was with my co-reviewers, celebrity Gil Cuerva and Chef Jerick Manalo, and of course with the show's host, Kuya Tonipet. After a few hours, (can't remember the exact number of hours because I'm chatting with Chef Jerick, hehe) we reached the first destination, Balai Serafin.

BALAI SERAFIN

It is a small restaurant, which actually resembles a house. Though the space is limited, you won't be short-changed with the array of native paintings and ornaments, all situated in a very cozy atmosphere.

Here's the part of the episode featuring BS:

Below photo was our first groufie! (don't miss our photo-bomber, haha!) Haven't started with the food, yet I feel so full already. A breakfast buffet was served prior to this, good thing I didn't ate that much. Oh God, this is it, the start of pigging-out!

With Kuya Tonipet, Gil Cuerva and Chef Jerick Manalo

Shy at first, I still managed to take some photos, especially the food. Everything is so Instagram-worthy! Filipino food, native designs and relaxing ambiance, what more can you ask for? The whole family will surely enjoy it here.

By the way, the paintings aren't for design purposes only, because they are all for sale. A large part of the proceeds will go to the natives, so if ever you visit Balai Serafin, make sure to check these beautiful artworks and probably purchase one.

It was almost lunch time when we hit the road again. They say that lunch will be served at the second stop, but hey, aren't they full enough? I don't think I would manage to stuff more food inside my tummy!

KALYE MABINI

Second restaurant was Kalye Mabini. We were warmly welcomed by the KM crew, which is simply lovely. Their menu is filled with American-Italian dishes that are surprisingly affordable.

Now here's the part featuring KM:

Of course my blogger instinct was triggered again! I won't definitely miss a snap of each dish (not to mention that their black tables are so perfect for food flat lays!)

The food was good, but I fell in love with the baked mussels and oysters, they were my instant favorite! Also, I am very thankful that we had salad for lunch, as I really needed something light to get rid of the "umay" brought by the meat dishes earlier.

At this time, I felt that I'm more comfortable reviewing the food in front of the camera :) Thank you to Mr. John, the associate producer, for being so patient with us, particularly me *smiles*

Are we saving the best for last? Let's see!

It is almost dark when we arrived at Bistro Maloleno. However prior to this, we visited the Barasoain Church and the Museo ng Republika 1899, which was good because I think I've shed a few calories during the tour and digested most of the stuff I consumed from the first two restaurants.

Now let's get it on again!

BISTRO MALOLENO

"Love at first bite", who said this line? Well just find out here:

The food served to us were all sweet in general, however, the sweetness vary in intensity and accompanying flavor. Though I'm already full, I surprisingly found myself digging to each dish, simply because all of them are delicious! Especially the seafood platter, it was unbelievable! In the end, everything was so "sulit" and "masarap" indeed!

After all the eating, my favorite part was giving the final verdict. My "kadaldalan" was put into good use! Thought I'll be saying a few words only, but yeah, ended up explaining further!  On the other hand, I certainly don't want to give a low score though, but I just have to be honest, as I always am with my reviews. Nonetheless, I totally enjoyed the service, the food and everything in between, so definitely "pop na pop" for the three restos!

It was a loooong and tiiiiiiring day that I will never, ever, forget. Truly, if you expect the least, you'll get best! Who would've thought that I will actually appear on TV?! And not just a one-liner scene, but a whole episode! I still can't believe it...Thank you so much papa G.

My heartfelt thanks to the people behind the success of PopTalk---Kuya Tonipet and the entire crew. This may be my first and last episode with you guys, but I'm sure that I'll be seeing you again :) And for my family and friends who patiently waited for the episode to be aired, and finally watched the full episode last October 21 on channel 11 (originally scheduled on the 14th but was moved), I love you all!

I am hoping that this won't be the last, but only the beginning of more similar opportunities (yikes!). If you are also interested to be a guest reviewer on PopTalk, simply follow all their social media accounts and interact! Don't force or harass them guys, let them discover you :) Hoping to see you on the next PopTalk episode!

My love from another star remake? LOL

Cheers to more unexpected opportunities...
