COLD STONE CREAMERY

AFTER LONG HOURS of strolling around the mall, we (together with my food buddies) decided to take a break and enjoy a cup of ice cream. My all-time favorite was Dairy Queen, and have biases on their mango cheesecake and Oreo blizzard ice creams. But of course, we want to try something new---that's why our feet led us to Cold Stone creamery :)

Now I'll let you drool over this one-of-a-kind ice cream parlor, hoping that you'll give it a try after reading this blog post :)

BRAIN-FREEZE ON!

The Cold Stone branch that we visited was located inside Mall of Asia. This ice cream chain offers design-your-own ice cream creations, hand-mixed by the crews on a granite board. 

THE COLD STONE CREAMERY. People were screaming and cheering inside the store, who wouldn't be intrigued by it?

At first I got shocked with the prices, yeah.. this damn ice cream is a bit pricey :) But of course, you wouldn't know unless you give it a try. I finally convinced myself to order a "Love it" cup for P 158.00.

CHOOSE YOUR CUP. You can actually ask for a free taste! But just only a spoonful :0

THE MENU. They've got all the sugary treats that we love! from their signature ice creams, to cakes and even shakes!

But unlike the normal ice cream parlors, there's a catch on how the crews serve the ice cream to customers. I'm talking about the literal "catch" here guys! After a crew hand-mixed your ice cream, he/she will throw it to another crew, who will then catch it with a cup. They will insert a spoon on it and ask you the question: Catch or not? If your answer is CATCH, then be ready :)

PREPARE FOR LAUNCH! The manager (at the rightmost part of the pic) is about to throw the cup with ice cream on it! 

ALL HEADS UP! Can you see that blurry thing at the ceiling? well that's the ice cream ordered by that guy (leftmost part of the pic) whew! 

Of course, we also dared to catch our own ice cream cups. :) haha!

Aside from the sweet treat, you'll definitely enjoy their service, particularly the crews' dancing prowess! yeah!

THE VERDICT!

GOOD POINTS:

1. Very smooth and creamy ice cream
2. Wide variety of flavors to choose from
3. Friendly atmosphere---you won't get intimidated, esp. if it's your first time
4. Fast and UNIQUE service---the throw-and-catch thing!
5. Customizable product---you can choose your own toppings, mix different flavors together

NOT-SO-GOOD POINTS:

1. Pricey products---esp. for students 
2. Unhygienic serving of ice creams---it's still food you know

Alright! So far, this is the best ice cream store that I've ever visited :) The "thrill" brought by catching the ice cream will definitely give you the adrenaline to finish your ice cream with 10x enjoyment! An excellent bonding experience with your family and barkada :)
