DIY SERIES: Lemon Toner [Pimple scar remover + Whitening]

A RAINY DAY to everyone! *brrrr* It has been a week of continuous heavy rain though. I guess you're currently squeezing yourself into a fluffy pillow while rubbing your legs against your blanket. I can't blame you, the weather is really conducive for an entire day of slumber! But as for me, I squeezed another goodness here, which made me really excited to share it with everyone!

If you're blessed with a super clear face (with no visible blemishes at all), sorry, but this post is not for you. This is meant for those who suffer scars and blemishes caused by having pimples, just like me. You will not only solve your blemishes problems, but also your dream to have a whiter and more glowing skin. This DIY project is very simple, affordable and safe for any skin-type.

Let's have a LEMON-talk first

Lemon is a favorite flavor and scent for many products in the market. It is packed with a lot of vitamins and minerals that are good for our skin. It helps get rid of pimples because of its anti-bacterial property. And after, it can remove all the blemishes left because of its citric acid content, which will soon lead to a clearer and whiter skin. However, you must be careful if you have cuts or wounds on your face because it can sting really bad.

How to make your own LEMON Toner

Now I'll share with you how to make a natural toner from freshly-squeezed lemon juice. All you need to have are the three items below:

STEP 1: Get a small, clean bowl. Pour 1 tablespoon of cold water in it and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. (We shall follow the ratio of 1:1 for the water and lemon juice. The concentrated extract will be too strong to be used directly on our delicate face.)

STEP 2: Just mix the water and juice together. (You may refrigerate it for a bit because it is better cold, it'll help in reducing pores.)

STEP 3: Get a clean cotton square (or any kind, as long as it's clean) and soak it with the water-lemon mixture. Apply it on your entire face (avoiding the areas near the eyes and lips), concentrating on problem areas.

IMPORTANT: Just leave it on your face for 5-10 minutes only, then rinse it off. Pat your face dry and apply moisturizer. DON'T expose yourself to the sun while you have it on.

You can make more of it and just store in a clean container or bottle for future use. I personally use it once to twice a week, but I would advice that you use it once a day until you get your desired result. But, it'll be better if you'll continue using it once in a while after your skin have improved, because it is effective in preventing zits (pimples) from reappearing again.

I know purchasing a lemon often can be somehow be unpractical for some, but it is the cheapest among the other options. Besides, you can use a piece of lemon for more than a week, which is far more economical than buying products which may contain harmful chemicals and may fail to provide you the ideal result.

I hope you'll try it as well and please let me know your insights about it. It is all-natural that's why I can guarantee that it's safe. However, our varying skin-types may have also varying reactions on it. Those with oily skin will benefit from its acidity because it'll help put the shine at bay. But for those with dry skin, you should be cautious in using too much or a more concentrated version, because it can dry up the skin more. Just follow the recommended dilution and you're good to go :)

Share your thoughts! I'll be happy to here them ^_^

The lemon lover, as always,
