Beat the Heat! Fisher's Eco Farm Resort

Our initial plans for summer got a major setback due to several unexpected happenings. But of course, we can't let this season pass without dipping in the water! So we decided to take a quick break from work and enjoy an overnight swimming trip :)

It took us three days to finally settle on our destination. Our considerations includes:
(1) Accessibility <well it should be within Cavite, and if possible near our places>
(2) Affordability <budget-friendly, 'coz we want to enjoy without wounding our pockets..hehe>
(3) Ambiance <a close-to-nature and relaxing place>

And our choice (drum rolls please!)

The Fisher's Eco Farm Resort :)

Now, i'll be sharing with you my experience at FEF resort, just keep on reading! :)

The Fisher's Eco Farm Resort is situated at Burol Main, Dasmariñas City, Cavite. If you'll search them in the internet, you'll find out that they don't have a website or even an Facebook page. Well thanks to the blogs who featured them, we got useful information like their contact number, rates and some photos.

How to get there? Ride a jeepney (anywhere along Aguinaldo Highway) with a signboard DBB-C Kadiwa / La Salle. Tell the manong driver to drop you off at Summer wind (located at the crossing in between DLHSI - UMC and DLSU-D gate 3). You'll see a long line of tricycles at the right side, ride one and just ask the driver to deliver you in front of the resort's gate :)

After a 5-minute drive, you'll arrive in front of the resort's entrance. Take time to admire the surroundings as your ride move you along the fields! :)

WELCOME to Fisher's Eco Farm Resort :) Bamboos are definitely the mainstay in every resort!

Actually, we arrived at 7:00 pm because we were advised by the resort's personnel not to come early. Overnight swimming starts at 7:00 pm all the way thru 4 am, check-out time is at 6:00 am. I took some pictures the following morning because I'm not really happy with the appearance of the resort during our overnight stay.

The entrance fee is only P 150.00 for adults and P 120.00 for children below 4 ft. Guests are allowed to bring their own food and water, corkage fee (ranges from P 50.00 - P 100.00) applies to  sodas and alcoholic beverages only. But don't worry if you're not prepared, as long as you have cash, you can buy anything that you need in stores located outside and inside the resort.

The resort boasts floating cottages, where you can also enjoy fishing during the day. The fishing activity will cost you P 150.00 per kilo of fish caught. They also have grilling stations in front of each cottage so you can bring other foods for grilling. If you want a more comfortable stay, you can rent a pavilion with two rooms that could house 10-15 persons inside for P 2,500.

OUR COTTAGE. We rented this cottage, good for 10-15 persons, for P 1,000.

FLOATING COTTAGES. The prices for the cottage ranges from P 500.00 to P 2,000 depending on their seating capacity.

ALL UNDER ONE ROOF. If you're in a tight budget, you can settle for a table which costs P 300.00. The tables are housed inside a huge cottage, so you'll be with other resort's guests.

FOR REUNIONS. This large cottage can be a good venue for family reunions, class outings, company trips, etc. Free use of videoke machine---which means unlimited sing-along for everyone!

We're done with the cottages, so now let's take a look at their pools :)

The resort has five swimming pools, four of which can be enjoyed by the kids and a large pool that caters to adults. The pools are not super heavily chlorinated, you can still see a glimpse of your toes under the water..haha! But since it's SUMMER, the resort is very crowded. Some of the guests are not really responsible enough to take a shower before splashing in the water, and honestly--i find that disgusting :(

Well i understand them for a certain point, because the resort don't have open shower areas (unlike other resorts). The shower rooms and comfort rooms for girls are all under one roof, same goes with the boys'. A total of 7 shower rooms and 4 C.R/shower rooms can cater to all the female guests.

ADULT POOL. Perfect pool size if you want to practice your swimming skills...only if it's not crowded with people :)

POOL FOR THE KIDS. These two pools have slides on each side, which can be enjoyed by the kids.

3 FT. JACUZZIS. Too bad they're not working :( But the little kids, together with their grandparents, can still enjoy the cool water---that's for sure :)

If you noticed, I don't have group photos here. To be honest, we were quite dismayed with the quality of service and facilities that this resort offers. For your benefit, I'll be listing down the POP and FLAP points of this resort.

POP points

(1) Very affordable entrance fee and cottage rates
(2) Large pools
(3) Close-to-nature ambiance
(4) Affordable fishing activity
(5) Long hours of overnight swimming
(6) Entertaining resident singer

FLAP points

(1) Quite dirty pools
(2) Under-maintained shower rooms and comfort rooms (in short, DIRTY!)
(3) Lack of enough shower areas that could cater to a large number of guests
(4) Not well-lighted surroundings, especially during night swimming
(5) Under-renovated facilities that could cause accidents (pool area)
(6) Not-so-organized landscape design

PLANTS EVERYWHERE. If you love plants and fishes, you should visit this resort :)

Will I recommend this resort for your summer trip? Well i can't really say YES or NO.
