Beauty from Nature: See Sea Dead Sea Minerals | Review

One of the amazing natural wonders of the world is the famous Dead Sea. It is a salt lake between Israel and Jordan, and is considered to be the lowest point on earth. The waters of the Dead Sea are extremely saline, containing 32% salt (as compared with the 3% salt content of ordinary sea water), and relatively high concentrations of minerals.

These minerals are said to be present in the SeeSea Dead Sea Minerals products that we shall be reviewing on this post. If you want to learn more, just keep on reading :)

THE BRAND

SeeSea Dead Sea Minerals offer high-quality products containing minerals collected from Dead Sea. The creation of these products is powered by the innovative SeeSea Skincare Energizer (SSE) Complex, a system which helps restore, renew, and rejuvenate skin through combination of health-inducing Dead Sea minerals and powerful plants extracts. The products are made in Israel, and are imported to the Philippines by TE Chic Company Corp.

THE PRODUCTS

I received their complete skincare line for free, which includes the following: Whitening Body Lotion, Whitening Hand Cream, Whitening Foot Cream, Whitening Facial Moisturizing Cream and Whitening Facial Nourishing Cream.

The main ingredient of the products is Maris Sal. It is the salt derived from the Dead Sea, that contains essential minerals for the skin. Published journals have shown that this salt reduces inflammation, wrinkles and improves skin's barrier function and hydration.

The container of the lotion, hand cream and foot cream is a 120 ml squeeze tube, with a smooth matte finish. All are Paraben-free, and with a 4-year shelf-life (mine will expire on November 2019).

The Whitening Body Lotion is lightly perfumed, white in color, and has a thick consistency. It is absorbed on the skin pretty well, leaving a damp, velvety smooth feel on the skin.

The Whitening Hand and Foot Cream quite indistinguishable, since both has the same light, creamy consistency, same 'mineral' scent (almost odorless), and same ingredients. After application, both creams leave a moist and silky feeling.

Moving to the facial creams, both comes in a 50ml glass-like jar (high-quality plastic); pure white in color and  textured consistency. Also, there is a slight difference with their scents, but I think the moisturizing cream smells better.

The Whitening Facial Moisturizing Cream has Vitamins A & E and UV filters. The cream is easily absorbed by the skin, leaving a smooth and semi-matte finish.

The Whitening Facial Nourishing Cream has higher concentration of moisturizers and anti-ageing agents. The cream takes a while to be absorbed fully, and makes the skin look so hydrated and supple.

THE VERDICT

I am absolutely overwhelmed by these products (for real). Looking at the packaging and ingredients, I must say that I did set a high expectation for SeeSea. There was no second thoughts in trying them out, but it really took a while before I finally drafted a review (since I am also testing other skincare products). Now here are my brutally honest thoughts:

  • These products go beyond the usual "skincare", because they don't just simply moisturize or improve the skin's condition, but repair or overhaul the skin. They are like medicine for the skin.
  • However, I would appreciate if the products don't bear the redundant "whitening" claims. I don't know, I guess the products are simply too good to still anchor itself on this overrated standard of beauty.
  • And oh my G...I am not aware that these products cost quite a fortune! Had no idea with the prices, until I searched them on BeautyMNL. The lotion and hand/foot creams are sold at PHP 1660 individually, while the facial creams are at PHP 3600 per jar. Pricey? Oh yes! But with the goodness of these products, I will not really care if I do have the money (though I hope they'll manage to bring down the prices---if that's possible).
  • In the end, the products actually worked for me, so there's no reason not to recommend all of them. But, if you have to try only a few items from this skincare line, I would suggest that you go for the Body Lotion and Facial Moisturizing Cream. I will not suggest the hand and foot cream, because the ingredients are just the same, plus they are expensive.

That's it! Thank you for reading the entire post (which is quite long). Took me a couple of hours to finish this one, since I also did some research in between. If you have questions or comments, please do leave them below :)

I would like to thank the generous people behind TE Chic Cosmetics. You may visit their website at www.techiccosmetics.com. SeeSea products can be purchased at BeautyMNL and Giltbox Store (UP Town Center and Eastwood Mall).

  5. Whenever I get stressed my skin gets itchy and flaky. Yung pinaka worst is during my college years, I have big dry patches na di lang flaky medyo nagsusugat na din because of constant scratching. Nagpunta na po kami sa Jose Reyes to have it checked and I was diagnosed with something na similar sa skin asthma. I just forgot the exact term pero something like that. Nakuha naman po sa Dermablend lotion mixed with 2 tubes of Dermovate oitment pero we were asked to buy lotions or creams na with Dead Sea salt. It really is expensive kaya di na ako nashock sa prize... kaya nga di namin nabili eh haha! Sinusumpong pa din minsan pero not as severe as before kaya hopefully someday I'll be able to get some someday... :)
