My Althea Box #1: Oh! Skincare

Hello loves! I am very excited to start this blog series, which I've been thinking about for the past few months. I hope that thru our Althea Box Series, I'll be able to help you in curating your own beauty box, and also give you ideas on the products that truly deserve a space in your cart and on your vanity table *wink* 

So for this post, I will share with you my first Althea Box! Who's excited???!

I decided to order the items which I haven't tried before. Though I use masks, serums, eye creams and mists on a daily basis, these particular brands were not yet included in my current regimen. There are 10 items inside the box and I've been using them since August, just to give you worthy inputs. 

Are they worth buying? Let's see...

Elizavecca

Gold CF-Nest White Bomb Eye Cream

30 mL, PHP400 

This is actually a good deal for an eye cream. I got it because I was intrigued of the ingredients! It has bird's nest extract, 24K gold and volufiline, along with a dozen of natural oils and extracts...wow.


Okay, so I actually use it every day, and I did noticed that my eyes appear more alive---with less puffy eyes and firmer skin around it. I also apply it around my lips (laugh lines). Two thumbs up for me!

It's Skin Power 10 Formula
PO Effector and VC Effector

30 mL, PHP390 each

There has been a rave about these serums, and a lot are claiming that they very effective (along with the other drops). The PO Effector contains H. cordata extract (Chameleon plant), while the VC Effector has Vitamin C derivatives.


Took me a couple of weeks to try and test if they really work, and good news, I love them! I use VC at night; makes the skin look brighter and healthier. During the day, I use PO as a moisturizer before applying makeup; makes my pores appear smaller and skin firmer. Both are not sticky and absorbed by the skin well too.

Everyday Mask 
(Honey, Green Tea, Rice, Lemon, Berry)

25 mg, PHP20 each

I only purchased 5 out of 8 variants (Aloe, Olive, Pomegranate were not included) because oh my, they are so cheap! Usually, a cotton sheet mask would cost me PHP55 to PHP95, depending on the brand and the claimed effect. But with these, you can mask on almost every day!


Now how's the effect? Nothing so special, just the basic upshot that we expect from a sheet mask: moisturizing, firming and nourishing. Though I did love the mild scent and cooling effect.

Nature Republic
Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Mist 

150 mL, PHP260

The reason I purchased this is simply because my face and skin becomes dry in the office, even if I always put on moisturizer and lotion before leaving the house. 

I totally love this product. I use it on my face, arms and legs, and also on my hair! No kidding, I find it very effective on my dyed hair. I would spray it first on my damp hair, then spray it again after blow-drying. Absolutely versatile!

Etude House
Lovely Etti Hair Band 

PHP190

Not a skincare product (obviously, hehe), I just included it in my box since I need a new band to keep my hair in place whenever I apply skincare products or put on makeup. Plus, it's so cute too!
